3 City Girls vs 1 Farm Guy - Who can work faster?
Like the Farm shirts in the video? They are the best shirts we've used on the farm.
Follow this link and use Code: familyfarmlife to get 15% OFF! - Link: ag-gear.rfrl.co/1pqgz
I wanted to test and see if 3 City Girls could beat 1 Farm Guy at hauling Straw Bales and the winner gets $1000. I got 80 bales for each of them, and the goal is to get them on the trailer as fast as possible.
Thanks to AG-Gear ( @ag-gear ) for sending over the shirts we used in this video
Everything in this video is real, nothing was setup or faked. Before the video started we walked the girls through how they had to do everything (like operating the straps)
(As a disclaimer: the definition of city girls is relative, these are Central Texas city girls, not California city girls. However I made sure they had no previous experience hauling square bales like this.)

Harvesting like it's 1920

I show exactly how we used to harvest oats and wheat over 100 years ago. This is a event put on by our neighbor, and we help him do it. He does it so the local community can stop by and see all the hard work farmers used to do. it’s amazing how far farming has come in the last 100 years.

That's the fun part. I always disliked getting close to the barn roof when stacking in the barn. The higher you got, the hotter it was.

Gloves work better on your hands. You should be wearing an apr with ammonia filters. Farm can afford an expandable hitch they can afford your ppe. Wear it. If nothing else great job for wearing the face mask.

Three “inexperienced City girls” that could drive a truck with a trailer, toss and stack hay knowing how to do it properly, then also could use and toss ratchet straps like they’ve been taught how to do it. They should get real city girls not ones that have been show how to do the work.

I worked on an organic farm for 2 summers. The guy hired me to replace 2 teenagers, so I was alone in the back hauling/stacking bales. The trailer we had only held about 100 bales, so Id pull and stack, then turned around and unloaded them all onto a conveyor belt. We'd do a couple runs (about 200 bales) them I got to take a break by weeding the garlic field. 😂 Honestly... the work was great. I loved being active and busy but I HATED all the scrapes and cuts id have up both arms from the hay. 🤬

They are spending 2x the gas. In Indiana when I was a teenager we had the trailer hooked on the the bailer. An old man and I worked on the trailer stacking the bales. When 5 or so trailers were filled we took them to the barn and used a corn elevator to run them up into the haymow. I worked in the hay mow stacking the square bales. Why bale them, put them on the ground. Next day or so they pick them up. A waste of fuel and time. Then if it rains they woukd bebtoo wet for the hay mow. A good way to burn your barn down. We filled 4 or 5 big barns every year for our cattle, and horses. The hay was alfalfa. The straw was wheat stuble and oats stuble for winter. We also helped the old man bailing his hay and straw. This was all in the early 1960s. Teenage boys living in the cities should have to work on farms every summer learning how to work, and milk cows by hand morning and evening.
